This course is suitable for individuals working within the private and public sectors of the healthcare service, particularly in residential care homes and domiciliary homes.
Course contents: This is an ideal course for those seeking to increase their knowledge of palliative care in a vocational setting. It aims to: Provide a definition of Palliative Care; Help explore the common questions and themes in Palliative Care; Inform of the range of possible familial, spiritual, social and emotional needs; Make candidates more aware of the principles of pain management; Prepare candidates to confront issues of death and bereavement
Candidates work through the learning materials and complete assessments for each unit. Learning activities are based on a combination of knowledge and skills learned on the programme and work-based activities and experience. Each candidate will have access to a tutor who will support them throughout the programme.
