Description


This course is suitable for employees responsible for the care of others who need support and assistance in the administration of their medication, this includes care workers in residential homes, supported housing and domiciliary care.

Course contents: This course consists of 5 units: An introduction to medicines and prescriptions; Medicine supply, storage and disposal; The safe administration of medication; Quality control and record keeping; Accountability, responsibility and confidentiality

Teaching and Assesment


Candidates work through the learning materials and complete assessments for each unit.  Learning activities are based on a combination of knowledge and skills learned on the programme and work-based activities and experience.  Each candidate will have access to a tutor who will support them throughout the programme.
