The role of a Plumber is highly varied, ranging from routine servicing or emergency repairs to installing or decommissioning different systems for example heating or sanitary. Attention to detail is important as is the ability to use basic maths, volumes and measurements.
The C&G 6035 is a technical certificate which will give you the underpinning knowledge required to develop a wide range of skills including installation, commissioning and maintenance. It replaces the 6129 Level 2/3 Certificate in Plumbing Studies.
To be a qualified tradesperson you will need to complete on-site evidence, therefore, you should be suitably employed in a related role.

Teaching has an emphasis on 'learning by doing'. During the course you will study a range of units developing your knowledge and skills through practical and theory sessions.

Achievement will be through the successful completion of all units. You will also work towards a Functional Skill in Information Technology, Communication and Application of Number, all of which are important for progression within the Construction Industry.

As a minimum you should have a GCSE C or above in Maths and English, however, you will be invited to interview with a member of the course team and will be required to undertake an initial assessment to determine your entry level.

An equipment list will be sent out prior to the course starting. Basic equipment will include steel toe capped safety boots or shoes and fire retardent overalls.
