This course aims to give you an overview of the travel industry and of the role and personal qualities of the resort representative.
You should be committed to ‘making a difference’ to people’s leisure time, enjoy working with people and want to provide a quality service.
The programme consists of seven units:
• The travel industry and the role of the resort representative
• The resort representatives role at the airport
• The resort representative and the hotel
• The resort representative and coach tours
• The resort representative and customer care
• The resort representative post tour duties
• Research employment prospects
Throughout the course there will be lectures, workshops, seminars and visits. You will also participate in role-play situations and simulated activities.
You will be assessed continuously by observation of performance and you will be required to compile a portfolio of evidence, which will also contain assessment and project work.
Employment as a resort representative either in the UK or abroad.
This course is also suitable for those who have worked as a resort representative in the past and who wish to gain a qualification matched to their current skills and abilities.
Whilst there are no formal entry requirements, it is expected that you should have a good level of literacy.
There is no minimum age limit but tour operators may set their own age limits for employment purposes.
