Plumbers and Heating Engineers who work on the installation and use of unvented hot water storage systems need to undertake training in this area in order to do the work competently and correctly and comply with the current legislation. Many employers require their employees to hold this industry recognised certificate. It is also useful to prove competency to potential customers.
This training will qualify you to install, commission and repair unvented hot water storage systems, as outlined in the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 for England and Wales. Successful completion of the course will earn you a BPEC Domestic Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems certificate and competency card.

You will attend college for a one-day intensive training course and achievement will be measured by the successful completion of the 4 modules and 3 assessments. All training and 2 of the assessments are theoretical based in the classroom, 1 assessment is practical based.
Upon completion you will be eligible to join a 'competent persons' scheme.
As a minimum you must have successfully achieved or be working towards the C&G 6129 Level 2 Technical Certificate, or have evidence of working in the industry for a number of years.
