The changes to Part L of the Building Regulations, which came into effect in April 2005, mean that all new buildings must comply to minimum energy efficiency standards. Plumbing systems should be installed by a 'competent person' registered with a regulatory body or signed off by the building control department of the local authority.
By successfully completing this course, you will be able to understand the relationship between energy use and climate change, the changes to the regulations and how it impacts on day to day business.
You will attend college for a one-day intensive training course and will be issued with a comprehensive set of training materials. Achievement will be measured by the successful completion of a 30 question multi-choice open-book assessment. All training is theoretical based in the classroom.
Upon completion you will be eligible to join a 'competent persons' scheme.
As a minimum you must have successfully achieved the C&G 6089 NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, or have evidence of working in the industry for a number of years and relevant experience.
Tuition Fees: £175 includes training manual, certificate and competency card.
